Wishful thinking...

Hey everyone, now first of all sorry i haven't blogged for a while, but having gone back to school i have been too busy with schoolwork and being ill that i haven't had time to blog much, but i will try and keep on top of my blogging from now on.
Anyway, i thought i would do this blog post as autumn/fall is my favourite time of the year and although it has come around far too quickly this year, i am still rather excited for cosy nights in with X factor and Downtown abbey. So, therefore i thought i would do my autumn wishlist to show all you guys what is on my list of things to buy this autumn...

1.River island grey faux fur collar pea coat
I spend every autumn/winter searching for a coat but end up leaving it to late and buying the first thing i find. I have had my eye on this coat for some time as i think it will go with everything in my wardrobe and look perfect for autumn/ winter.

 2.New look red tartan check skater skirt
Tartan is a big trend this autumn/winter and as i wear jeans all the time, i feel i need to branch out and wear more skirts/dresses. This skirt will look perfect with thick tights, black ankle boots and a biker jacket in the autumn and so i will definitely be purchasing this.

3.Max factor whipped creme foundation
I have used a max factor foundation before(the colour adapt to be exact) but i wasn't that impressed with it as i have very dry skin at times and the foundation just clung to these dry patches. Not very attractive. However, i am quite eager to try this product as it claims to hydrate skin, as well as creating a demi-matte look with a radiant glow, which i think would look great as we get into the colder months of autumn.

4.Nails inc Knightsbridge road Galaxy
This is the perfect party nail polish and i think it would look perfect in autumn paired with a deep berry red as an accent nail. There are four colours in the galaxy range and all of them would be perfect in autumn, especially for Bonfire night.

5.River island pink colour block tote bag
I am going on holiday at the end of October and have had my eye on this bag for a couple of weeks as i think it would be perfect to take on the plane. It has two sections inside and would be great to fit a laptop or tablet inside. One of the main reasons why i love this bag is the colour, as pink is the colour of autumn/winter and i think it would look great to brighten up my autumn/winter clothes.

6.Yankee candle "November Rain"
As soon as i saw this candle i fell in love, not just because the name has me thinking of warm, cosy Sunday nights in the middle of November. I love fresh scents and this candle is just that, described as an airy, refreshing mix of watery leaf notes, warm amber and crisp, brisk air.

So that is what i am wishing for this autumn, how about you? What is on your autumn wishlist?

Thanks for reading

August Favourites

Another month has gone by already and so the time has come for my August favourites. I have discovered a lot of products this month that i loved immediately and so without further ado, here is what i have been loving in August...

{Superfacialist by Una Brennan Tea Flower Deep Clean Purify and Refresh Facial Scrub}
 I bought this on a whim as it was on offer in boots and i had recently read about it. The only words i can say is that i am glad i bought it as it is a great product. It is a deep, pore cleansing scrub and i use it 1-2 times a week to really cleanse my skin. As the texture of the product is quite thick and grainy, it therefore exfoliates my skin as well, which is great as i have dry skin. Overall, i have really been enjoying this product throughout the month, and i hope i will continue to love it.

{Garnier Moisture Match - dry to very dry skin}
I recently switched to this moisturiser after using the Garnier moisture match- normal to dry skin, and i can't tell you how much of a difference it has made to my skin. Before using this moisturiser, my skin would look dry and flaky after i applied my foundation, which was really annoying. However, after switching to this product, my skin is now soft and hydrated with no flakiness. I am already on my third tube of this and i know i will continue to repurchase it.

{MAC In Extreme Dimension Lash Mascara}
There is just one word that i can think of to describe this product and it is WOW!!! I was kind of talked into buying this by the sales assistant at the checkout and i am so pleased that i did purchase it. It makes my lashes long and thick, and the shape of the handle makes it really easy to apply. It also stays on all day, but it is easy enough to remove at the end of the day. It is my new favourite product at the moment and it will definitely be staying in my makeup bag throughout the upcoming months.

{Burt's Bees' Beeswax Lip Balm}
Before purchasing this i had yet to find a lip balm that treated my dry, cracked lips(not attractive!). I knew that Burt's bees' were a good brand of lip products and so decided to purchase one next time i was in boots. After only one day of using it, i could tell the difference it had made to my lips, as they already looked very moisturised. I will definitely be using this as the days start getting colder as it nourishes and treats lips brilliantly.

{Rimmel Kate Matte Lipstick-107 & 111}
I have already discussed these products in my previous blog post, so i won't go on about them too much, apart from the fact that i have only recently started wearing more lipstick and these are definitely my favourites by far. The colours are both perfect for this time of year, with 111 being a cool, bright daytime red and 107 being a dark, berry red perfect for wearing in the evening. I know that i will continue wearing both of these throughout September as i love them :)

{Sleek Blush by 3-Lace}
I only recently purchased this product from sleek, but have been loving it so much that i knew i had to include it in my favourites. The colours in this palette are beautiful coral shades, with two matte and one shimmer blusher. What i love most about sleek blushers are how SUPER pigmented the colours are. This blush palette has been perfect for the summer and i will definitely be packing it for my holiday in October

{Real Techniques make up brushes- Buffing brush & Contour brush}
I have never been a fan of applying foundation with a brush, but i decided to buy the Real techniques Core Collection to make a change from applying foundation with my fingers. My favourites are the Buffing brush and the Contour brush as they make my skin look flawless. After applying the majority of my foundation with my fingers, i use the buffing brush to buff the rest of the foundation into my skin, which reduces the appearance of pores. I use the contour brush for everything- blending concealer, contouring and applying blusher. I will definitely be purchasing more of these brushes as i love them :)

So there you are :) I have really been enjoying using these products this month and can't wait to discover some new products in September

What products have you been loving this month?

Au revoir,

Let your lips do the talking...

L-R: Bourjois"rose", Revlon "Adorned", Rimmel "107", Rimmel "111"

 Hey everyone! Today i want to share with you some of the lipsticks i have recently purchased and am currently loving. I am generally not a big fan of my lips as they are quite small, and have always much preferred a smoky eye with a nude/light pink lip. However, i have decided to stop being so safe with my make up and be a bit more brave with my lip colour. So here are the ones i am loving at the moment. Enjoy!

{Bourjois Shine Edition-Rose xoxo}
Rose xoxo is one of bourjois' newest shine edition lipsticks. I have been really enjoying wearing it since i bought it as it is a beautiful colour that is perfect for daytime. Rose xoxo is a soft rosebud pink colour, with slightly blue undertones and a subtle shimmer. The product glides on easily and is quite sheer, but can be built up to give a more intense colour. It has a very glossy finish to it, which does wear off after 3-4 hours, leaving a stain effect on your lips. It is also very moisturising to your lips and so couldn't be more perfect more the colder months coming up. Overall, this has been one of my favourite products recently and i will most definitely be purchasing some of the other shades.

{Revlon Colorburst Lip gloss-Adorned}
Adorned is one of the new AW13 shades released in the Colorburst range. It is a stunning, super bright, neon pink that is great for switching from summer to autumn. It adds an instant pop of colour to any look, and the effect is very glossy and shiny without being sticky. One of my favourite things about this product is how easy it is to apply, as the applicator is curved to efficiently glide onto the lips. I am loving this lipgloss for day or night and it will be getting lots of use in the coming months :)

{Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish Matte Lipstick-107}
i know that these have been around for a while now but i have only just discovered that red lipstick actually suits me. Therefore, the first red lipstick i bought was the 107 due to reading many great things about it. It is also the perfect shade for the upcoming autumn/winter months as it is a deep plum red. I instantly fell in love the moment it was on my lips, as it was creamy but didn't look dry on the lips. The colour also lasted for a good few hours due to the matte finish and the fact that it is super pigmented. I can't wait to wear it upcoming seasons.

{Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish Matte Lipstick-111}
I couldn't resist buying another of these when i realised how great the 107 was, and i am glad i did. Shade 111 is a bright, cherry red that looks great in the day as well as at night. Again, the product is very pigmented and lasts a long time on the lips, without it being too drying. Overall, i am very pleased that i decided to buy these and i will definitely be packing it for my holiday in October :)

So there we go, my favourite lip products at the moment.
Do you own any of these? What are your favourite lip products at the moment?

Au revoir,

MegKat

July Favourites

Bonjour!

As my first official blog post i thought i would do my July favourites. Most of them are beauty products but there are some random ones that i have been loving this month as well.

 My first products are the Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine nail paints. I have only recently purchased these and i am really impressed by them. I have them in the colours Satsuma and Greenberry, which are very bright, summery colours. They are very bright and shiny and are great for adding an instant pop of colour to any outfit.

 My next product that i have been loving is the L'Oreal Rouge Caresse in the shade Lovely rose. This is a really pretty pastel pink and it looks great as a subtle hint of colour to the lips, especially in the summer. As i don't really suit dark colours on my lips, this is the perfect product to add some colour without it being too dark.
I have also been loving the Rimmel Wake me up foundation in the shade Ivory. I have only recently discovered this as i needed a new foundation and i decided to try this based on reviews i had read. It gives a dewy finish that makes my skin glow and is perfect in the summer as a nice light foundation. It also has a really nice fruity scent, which you don't often get in a foundation, and it makes the product even better.
Another product that i have been loving this month is my DKNY Be delicious Paris EDP. It contains scents of Jasmine, violet, patchouli, vanilla and gala apples and gives a very fresh scent that is ideal in the summer months.
One of my favourite products this month has been the Garnier Summer body moisturising lotion as it gradually builds up a sunkissed look. It is scented with apricot and so smells amazing and fresh in the summer months, as well as building up a tan. I have loved applying this after a shower in summer and will definitely continue to apply it.
My last beauty product that i love is the Collection lasting perfection concealer. I have this in the shade Fair and it is the best concealer i have ever used. It has very high coverage and blends really well into the skin.
Random favourites
 The weather in the UK at the moment has been amazing and it feels as if we are constantly on holiday. I have loved being able to wear all my summery clothes and shoes and be in the garden during the day so much and i hope the weather stays like this all through summer(which is very unlikely!)
I also loved watching Wimbledon this year as the weather made it so much more enjoyable. The best part however was watching Andy Murray win the tournament making him the first British male in 77 years to do so. I get really patriotic about things like this and it felt like the Olympics all over again which was great!

I hope you have enjoyed reading my favourites for this month and i can't wait to share some more of my favourite products in the future.

Au revoir
