OOTD- Tropical Printed Trousers

Grey Vest- New Look
Printed Trousers- Topshop
Sandals- New Look
Hat- H&M

I was drawn to these trousers as soon as i saw them, as monochrome prints are one of my favourite things to wear. These are super stylish and surprisingly comfy: a win-win combination everytime.  Paired with a simple grey vest, my well-loved sandals(that go with everything), and black fedora, this is an easy way to inject a bit of monochrome into summer without it looking drab.

Summer Lips and Tips

As soon as summer rolls around, my lips and nails sport brighter, more vibrant hues. With that being said, here is my round up of my top picks for your pout and talons in the summer months...

For a sheer wash of colour, Bourjois Shine Edition in "Famous Fuchsia" and Maybelline Baby Lips in "Pink Punch" are my favourites. They are so wearable, as with just one glide you are good to go, as well as being super hydrating. If you want a more heavy duty, vivid look however, Rimmel is your best friend. The Moisture Renew in "In Love With Ginger" is a beautiful orange-toned shade, that is highly pigmented and glossy.  Kate Moss Lasting Finish in "110" is a bright pinky based red, that, although being matte, is perfect for summer due to the instant brightness is gives to the face.

As for nails, Barry M hits the nail(geddit?) on the head everytime, especially with their Gelly Hi shine formulas. "Blueberry", a pale, blue shade, that is my personal favourite, and "Lychee", which is a kind of taupe, nude colour have got my vote, yet the whole collection is great. For a slightly more classic look, Essie "Snap Happy" has you covered, giving that elegant appearance to your nails, yet being slightly orange-toned, making it instantly summer appropriate. For those lucky enough to be heading on holiday this year, look no further than Models Own Polish for Tans collection. I have "Shades", a pretty neon-pastel pink, that would compliment sunkissed skin beautifully.

So there are my top picks to make your lips and nails ready for summer. What are your favourite shades for Summer? Do you like any of these?

Current Beauty Favourites- Part 2

So I'm back with part two of my current beauty favourites, this time discussing the hair and body products that I have been loving for the past few months. Let's get stuck in, shall we...

Now hand cream is not the most interesting of topics to talk about, yet it is product that most of us use on a day to day basis. Whilst perusing the aisles of boots not so long ago, I stumbled across this and, needing a new hand cream, popped it into my basket. It does exactly what it says on the tin, moisturising without leaving a sticky residue on your hands. The mango scent is perfect for summer as well!

Soap & Glory are probably my favourite bath and body range, with this product being one of my favourites from the brand. The fresh citrus-y, lime scent leaves me feeling energised and woken up in the mornings, whilst the huge 500ml bottle lasts for ages. Definitely one to pick up next time if you love citrus scents as much as me.

For those with sensitive skin like me, Aveeno ticks all the right boxes. It is soothing and calming on the skin, without being irritable. It is quite thick and rich but absorbs quickly, so you don't have to wait around for too long for it to sink in. This is the perfect moisturiser for those with dry skin, and as it also contains oatmeal, is soooo good for you skin too!

After a recent trip to the hairdressers, in which my split ends were snipped away, I decided to try and keep them at bay, and protect my hair a bit more, as I use heat on it pretty often. Herbal Essences is a haircare brand that I trust, so I picked this up. It contains raspberry and silk, leaving my hair noticeably smoother and split end free. It has been a staple of mine in the shower, and I am sure it will continue to be so.

As my hair is naturally on the flat side, I try and add as much volume as possible in my haircare routine. I massage this mousse into the roots of my damp hair after washing, and then blow dry to give my hair volume and bounce in an instant. Unlike other mousses, this one doesn't go crispy or leave my hair looking oily after a few hours. My hair looks fuller and thicker after using this, and so will definitely stay in my hair routine.

I have tried a fair few hairsprays over the years, yet this is the only one I would repurchase. It is not sticky or crispy, yet holds curls for hours, even on freshly washed hair. A light spray over the hair is all you need to set your hair in place for the rest of the day. I am definitely going to continue using this over the next few months.

So that's all of my current beauty favourites of the past few months done and dusted. I can't to discover some more firm favourites in my collection!
Have you used any of these products? What did you think?

Current Beauty Favourites- Part 1

As I haven't been as up to date with blogging recently, due to A levels taking over my life, I thought I would do a huge current beauty favourites post in two parts, to get right back into the swing of things. In part one I will be discussing my Make-up and Skincare favourites, with Haircare and Body products in part two. So without further ado, let's get started...

As the weather has been getting slightly warmer, and the sun has been making more frequent appearances, I thought it was time to ditch the heavy duty, matte bases and favour a more dewy and radiant finish. Despite it's lightweight feel on the skin, it gives great coverage, and will definitely continue to be my base of choice in the summer months.
To help with the luminous complexion that I have aiming to achieve recently, I have been reaching for this concealer pretty much every single day for the last couple of months. It brightens up the face completely, particularly the under-eye area, banishing those pesky dark circles that hours of revision seemed to bring to my face. It is the perfect concealer to add an instant "pick me up" to the face and I love it!
As mentioned before, my makeup never looks complete without a good ol' swipe of eyeliner, yet I haven't been able to find a kohl pencil that lasts pretty much all day. Until I discovered this offering from Rimmel that is. One quick stroke of this along my waterline and I'm good to go for the rest of the day. It has been my go to product for the last few months, and I predict it will stay in my makeup back for a little while longer still.
I received this in a set of three for Christmas last year, and have gotten so much wear out of it. It is the perfect nude colour, and is extremely glossy and shiny. It is quite sheer, but easily build able, and is great finishing touch to a daytime makeup look, but would be a perfect pair to a dramatic smoky eye in the evening. With it's easy glide on application, it has become a firm favourite of mine.
I purchased this a while back now, but have rediscovered it in the past couple of months, as I have been tending to prefer a more natural brow look. This is a great 2-in-1 product, with the dark end making it easy to get defined brows, whilst the highlighting end gives a subtle highlight to the brow bone.
 L'Oreal Paris True Match Blush-Rosewood
As i don't really own all that many blushes, I decided it was time to add another one to my collection. I was after a perfect spring/summer shade, and this is just that. It adds a beautiful rosy glow to the cheeks, and due to being quite sheer, prevents you looking like coco the clown whenever you wear it. With subtle shimmer, it adds luminosity to the cheeks, without making you look like a disco ball.

Soap & Glory Smooch Operator Lip Butter Balm
After finishing my beloved Burt's Bees lip balm, I moved on to this little pot of goodness. This is super moisturising, nourishing and softening the lips every time it is applied. While I don't prefer it to the Burt's Bees offering, I have been thoroughly enjoying using it these past few months.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Gel Cleanser
As I have never had completely clear skin, I have tried numerous products to try and achieve that healthy, glowing complexion, which I have yet failed to reach. Now don't get me wrong, my skin still is not yet perfect, however this cleanser has made a huge difference. I have been using this gentle, foaming cleanser morning and evening, and it has left my skin looking much clearer, without causing irritation. This is perfect for most skin types, yet formulated for oily and sensitive types, so if you are aiming for clearer skin, it is definitely worth trying this.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo
I purchased this sometime last year after becoming insecure with my skin, yet found it made pretty much no difference to my complexion. However, using it with the cleanser as mentioned above makes a much bigger impact on the skin. The two products paired together clear skin and banish imperfections, leaving a much smoother and blemish free complexion. Again, I use this as part of both my morning and evening skincare routine, and found that this works well for my skin. I seriously need to repurchase this as I am coming to the end, and it will definitely be staying in my routine for a while.

The Body Shop Vitamin C Microdermabrasion
I spotted this in The Body Shop a couple of months ago and thought it sounded quite interesting. It exfoliates the skin, whilst also removing dead skin cells, improving the overall tone and texture of the skin. I have been using this once a week after cleansing, as it is slightly too harsh to use more than that, and whilst there has not been an immediate noticeable difference in my skin, my skin always feels softer and smoother after using it. I look forward to continue using this, as I feel it will make a big difference to the way my skin looks.

So there are my makeup and skincare favourites of the past few months. I will be back shortly with Part 2, and my hair and body favourites.

3 Little Things- Mini Haul

Who can resist a 3 for 2 offer across makeup, skincare, haircare and bodycare? I certainly can't and I think I am right in saying that the majority of beauty bloggers find it hard to resist the temptation of these offers as well. I have spent my fair share of pennies in Boots lately and so thought I would do a mini haul to show you all what I purchased.
Garnier Skin Naturals Fresh Eye Make-up Remover
This product has been popping up on my Bloglovin' feed a lot recently, receiving rave reviews on almost every blog post it has featured on. It seemed fitting therefore that I should try it out, to see if it is worth the hype. I have been using this for the past week or so now, every night and have been loving it. It is a really fresh, simple product, but works wonders on melting away stubborn gel eyeliner and waterproof mascara. It is perfect for sensitive skin, like mine and has a delicious fruity smell too. What more could you want?

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick- 'Pink in the Afternoon'
Revlon has become one of my favourite highstreet make-up brands recently, as the products are such good quality, yet so affordable. If you read my post last week(Link), then you will have seen my review on the Super Lustrous Lipglosses, which I love. So whilst shopping recently I decided to try out one of the lipsticks from the same range. I picked Pink in the Afternoon as I have been after a perfect pink-nude colour for a while now, and this one just looked perfect. It is a beautiful colour that will be perfect for the spring months, and I can't wait to wear it more.

Nivea In-shower Body Moisturiser- Dry Skin
I have heard nothing but good reviews about the Nivea in-shower body moisturisers, and so have finally purchased a bottle. Now, I am really lazy when it comes to applying body lotion after a shower, so this is the perfect product for me. I have tried this a couple of times since purchasing, and so far has been really great for my sensitive, dry skin. I know that I will be using this in the coming months, to get rid of my winter skin, ready for the spring and summer.

Have you tried any new products recently? What would you recommend?

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss

I'm sure over the past month or so nearly every beauty blogger under the sun has treated themselves to a few little goodies in the boots 3 for 2 offer, I myself included. Having spotted these lip glosses a while ago, I decided to buy the shade Berry allure, a beautiful plum colour which I absolutely loved during the winter months. I then promptly decided that I needed more of these, and so picked up another three of the shades with very little hesitation during my last boots visit. I added Fatal Apple, a bright red, Pink Pop, which as the name suggests, is a bright pink colour, and Kiss me Coral, a shimmery orange-coral colour perfect for spring/summer.

These lip glosses are quite sheer, but easily build able, and look great paired with a complementary lipstick. They give a subtle wash of colour to the lips, that is perfect for daytime, but easily work with a smokey eye for the evening. They are super glossy, but not sticky, and last a good couple of hours before having to touch them up. My particular favourite is Fatal apple, as it is a perfect way to wear red lips in the day.

Overall, I am loving these lip glosses and only costing £6.99 each, I look forward to adding the rest of the shades to my collection soon.

Have you tried any of these products? What did you think of them?
